Hi Arthur, hope you're well. I'm very good, thank you! :-)) Thanks for your reply.
Yes, Meryl did well again this year at the Oscars. Quite a bravura performance, I understand... I whole-heartedly recommend The Artist to you.

ESC a disaster...? Oh dear... :(( I hope things improve before May then... Most fans seem to agree with you about Sweden and I'm sure it has a great chance to win. Russia is showing us it really does have a sense of humour after all, lol. :P Nina is great and has a good song as well as cool Amy Winehouse hair and pink high heels. I lent them her from my closet, you know, haha... ;)

I think Greece chose wisely again. I expect to see you in the final and at the top of the scoreboard. The UK song is disappointing for me too, as is the choice of singer, not to mention the complete lack of public input once more. I fear we'll be quickly forgotten after performing 1st in the final. I love Norway, Iceland, Azerbaijan, Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, Lithuania, Spain, Malta and Ireland. Latvia and Georgia seem much improved.

Are you expecting chocolate from the bunny tomorrow? Any plans for your happy day in 19 days' time? :D I sadly can't afford to go to Baku although I would love to, but my consolation prize is ESC in Concert in Amsterdam. Looking forward to seeing and hearing Eleftheria live then.

Sorry, I don't have Twitter... :( As Tim Douwsma sang in the Dutch national final this year: I can't even tweet... Do you have Skype by any chance? Take care for now and enjoy spring! :))

Hi Robin, I hope you're ok! Thank you for your reply. I listened to all the ESC'songs this year as well as watched the official videos and I teel that the contest this year will be fine! My favourite contestant is ITALY<3 and I really liked the english version of the song. The worst contestant in my opinion is Montenegro: the song is terrible.I also watched the country's rehearsal and found it very boring.! I'm very satisfied about Eleftheria . altough I'm not quite found of the song's choreography, we could have done a lot better. I also liked ivi's and ireland's rehearsal . I had a great time in my birthday . thanks for asking. My friends did me a surprise party and also gave me many beautiful presents.!!! I hope you had a great time in Amsterdam. Did you like it there?/
Well, that's all for now. I hope I hear from you soon, as these two weeks are the most important of the whole year!!! I'm soooo excited!!
Bye for now, your friend Arthur!!!!

Hi Arthur, how are you? :-)) I'm doing very well, thank you!

Thanks yet again for your fantastic reply! I see the Greek national final has been scheduled at long last on 12 March...only a couple of short weeks to wait... Pick something great again and I'm sure Greece will be at the top... Watch My Dance did come 7th after all, so hardly a bad result... ;) You can't stop watching...this is an addiction for life... ;) :P

Hungary is quite unusual this time round and I'm still not quite sure about it. I feel nervous for Georgia and Latvia: I hope they have chosen wisely. I think Ireland were sensible to go for Jedward again after their top 10 last year. The Netherlands has made a really bold choice and I really hope it pays off for them. We still know nothing more about the UK's entry...we had better hurry up...time is of the essence... I don't think we'll send Atomic Kitten, as rumoured in a tabloid newspaper.

Oh I really hope you get to host ESC! :D I'm sure you'd do a terrific job! Will you do it in Athens or another city? Being a journalist and hosting your own tv show would be amazing! :))) Would you like to train in journalism in future? I look forward to seeing you live on that ESC stage, following in Sakis's footsteps!

Sorry to hear about your freezing winter. At least you got a chance to play in it... Hope it melts soon and spring comes your way before long. We've just had a few warm sunny days, so hopefully they will reach you as well.

Singin' in the Rain was fab! I wasn't on the front row, so happily I didn't get wet... :) No, it doesn't rain in London every day: that's just bad press, lol. ;) It's been quite a dry year so far and possibly heading for a drought. Will you watch the Oscars? Do you think it will be Brad Pitt or George Clooney?

OK, good luck to Greece! Have a good time and take care for now. :))

hi robin, how are you?i'm very sorry for the long delay, i was very busy. i watched the Oscars and i liked them alot! i'm very happy that MERYL STREEP won an OSCAR. i also liked ''the artist",although i still haven't seen it...
Anyway, i think that eurovision this year is going to be a disaster! My favourite this year is SWEDEN (i think that sweden will be the winner), Russia (party for everybody dance!!!) and italy because i adore nina zilli<3... I think Greece made quite a good choice. The song was my favourite comparing to the other 3, and it's definately better than our songs the last 2 years...I have to admit , though that i'm a little disappointed by your song ,I expected more... Blue were much better ... Anyway YOU'VE Twitter?I created and it's wonderful ... if you HAVE. WE could talk and there because it is easier....!!!! thats all for now....
    TAKE CARE ... ARTHUR!!!

Hi Arthur, hope you're well. :-)) Thanks for your lovely long reply: I enjoyed getting it and reading it!

Glad you had a relaxing holiday and good luck with your proficiency exams next time! :) I'm sure Baku has a treat in store for us! Hope Italy wins then...or Greece... I'm sure ERT would do a great job if called upon, despite everything. The EBU would financially support them and they would get sponsors of course. You could offer to host it in your home...and present it... :D

Do you think Melisses will perform for Greece this year? I liked their song Kinezos 2 years ago. There is a host of ESC information at:

    www.oikotimes.com

    and of course here at:

    www.eurovision.tv/page/baku-2012

Thanks for all the interesting info on Ivi Adamou: glad to hear you're pleased with the Cypriot choice. They picked your song! It's certainly fun and infectious and should do well. I love France, especially the whistling. I feel nervous for Malta. Looking forward to hearing from Norway, Iceland and Hungary next Saturday.

How is winter in Greece? We had snow in London last night, but happily it's melting now. What are you up to this month? I will go to see Singin' in the Rain and The Wizard of Oz next week on stage.

Take care for now and hope to hear from you. :))

Hi Robin, how are you? Thanks for your reply and for your useful information, I'm gonna need it! ;))

I'm so excited for this year's contest! Finally ERT announced our prospective contestants (unforunately Melisses are not in, they were my favourite choice back in 2010!) but I don't know yet when will our national final take place. I have to admit though that I'm not really happy about the selections and the singers. At least I hope the songs are good. But, if we do the same mistake as last year and choose a song similar to "Watch my Dance", I'm telling you that I will stop watching the contest and will no longer be an ESC fan!

I'm sure that Hungary is going to be great this year (at least I hope so!) because last year they were one of my favourites and I was quite disappointed that they didn't do well. I feel very optimistic about this year's contest and I'm pretty sure that the songs and the performances of all the countries will be great!

Have I told you that it has always been a dream of mine to host the ESC when I grow older? I hope I will be given the chance. I always wanted to become a journalist and host my own TV show! Anyway, this year it has been the coldest winter ever! It had been snowing for almost a week-at least schools closed so we had the chance to play in the snow!

I hope you have a great time seeing The Wizard of Oz and Singin' in the Rain (it'smy favourite musical). Is it true that in London it's raining almost every day? Isn't it a little depressing?

That's all for now. I'll be waiting for your reply!
    Take care, Arthur

Hi Arthur, how are you? :-)) Thanks for your great reply and your kind New Year greetings! My holiday was restful, social and peaceful, thank you. I trust yours was also enjoyable. I'm certain we'll all live to see many many more ESCs! :D

Trust the exams went well. Your English is great anyway. I'm sure Rome would be fabulous and I hope you get to see it very soon. And if Italy wins ESC... ;) Actually, I quite liked some of the Greek entries in JESC, lol.

I had a nice trip to Sofia, thanks. I liked the communist monuments, the interesting churches and enjoyed going to the opera...fortunately with English subtitles. Happy to hear you like film comedies and you're a Harry fan. I enjoyed all his films too and the last one was really dramatic. I see you're very social too.

So what do you think of the 3 songs so far for ESC this year? I wondered if Switzerland would choose the iconic Lys Assia. I think they made the right selection and Sinplus reminds me a little of Denmark last year. I love the Albanian singer's voice. Not sure yet about the Danish song but perhaps it might grow on me. Is there any news yet about what Greece has in store for us? What should Cyprus send? Will you watch on Wednesday night? I suspect the UK will be last to pick in mid-March. I hope the public will have some input to either singer, song or both...unlike last year...

Well, enjoy the national finals coming up. The Contest is drawing ever nearer... :)) Feel free to email me or add me on Skype. Take care for now.

Hi Robin, I'm fine, thanks for asking. My holiday was also very interesting, as I had the time to relax and spend some time with my friends. I think and I hope that we'll live to see many ESCs-if our world doesn't end in 21.12.12!! At least we'll live to see this year's contest and I hope Baku gives us an amazing spectacle, just like last year. Unfortunately I didn't pass my proficiency exams but I'm not really worried, I might try again in a few years!

If Italy wins ESC, I'll go to Rome without a second thought. Firstly because it's not very far from Greece so my trip isn't going to be tiring. Secondly, as I have already told you, going to Rome is one of my biggest dreams that has to come true. Finally, I think that Greece isn't going to host the contest-at least for the next few years-for two obvious reasons:we don't have the money to repay our debts, much less host the contest and our songs the last couple of years were not good, so Italy is my next desired destination for hosting ESC.

As for the countries that have already chosen their songs, I have to say that I'm a little disappointed by Switzerland that didn't choose Lys Assia. I believed that they would have done great if they had picked her, as she is legendary. I don't like their song at all and I think they missed an amazing opportunity. I totally agree with your opinion for the Albanian singer, she has a great voice. I also like her song very much. I didn't really like Denmark's song, last year they were much better. Now, in terms of the Cypriot song, I have to admit that I couldn't have asked for more! Ivi Adamou is one of my favourite greek singers (she became famous by taking part in the greek X-Factor three years ago and even though she eliminated quite early, she had a great carreer after that.) "La la love" was my favourite song of the three and I'm really happy about the final result. I watched the Cypriot final, too. Unfortunately I don't have any news about the greek entry. I guess we'll be the last ones to choose a song, I hope it will be worth waiting!

Well, that's all for now. Could you tell me were do you find all those information about ESC? You seem to know lots of thing about the contest and I'm really jealous for that ! ;))
Anyway, take care. I'll be anxiously waiting for your reply! :-))

Hi Arthur, hope you're well. :-)) Thanks for your great reply again! Your English is terrific! Sorry I don't speak Greek... :(

You're right, female singers have done well for Greece in ESC in recent years. And I didn't think Mando was that bad, lol... ;) Make sure you pick a great entry next year! I'm sure Greece will be in the top 10 as always. Hopefully you can win again soon! :D

Your island holiday sounds like paradise. Yes, I hear Greece is a beautiful place to visit and I hope to do so before long. I went to Belarus in summer and took my first trip into Russia at the same time. Moscow was fascinating: saw Lenin, but he didn't look too well, lol... ;) And of course I had to see the Olympic Stadium, home to ESC 09.

I will be watching JESC on tv if I can...shame Greece isn't taking part... Can't wait for ESC 12...only just over a month till Switzerland chooses...and then it starts all over again... :)) I thought Scooch in 07 was the worst choice of the 6 on offer and I hated Josh Dubovie's song in 10, but not him, lol. I hope the UK will send a great song...I don't mind the genre...and the singer doesn't need to be well-known...but it should be chosen by the UK public...unlike Blue and their song this year...

I'm off to Ankara and Sofia this month, so looking forward to that. My first time in Bulgaria... Do you go to the cinema or theatre much? I'm eagerly awaiting the cute werewolves in the next Twilight movie, hehe. Loved the last Harry Potter film too. What else do you get up to in your spare time?

OK, well take care for now and hope to hear from you. :-))

Hi Robin, sorry for such a late response but i'm really busy as i have to study for school and my english exams...
You're so lucky that you've been to so many beautiful countries.
when i grow older, i would like to go to Rome...! This trip is a dream of a lifetime..
Anyway, to tell you the truth, i was very happy that Greece didn't take part in jesc as i don't like this contest at all.Apart from that , i feel that our country's singers and songs were mediocre ( with the exception of 2003 and 2005)
I really hope you had a great time to Bulgaria. in my free time i love going to the cinema with my friends. we watch a lot of movies together . i am keen on watching comedies as they make me laugh a lot and escape from my daily routine . I adored the last Harry Potter films ( i've watched it 2 times to the cinema!), but i have to admit that i didn't really like the Twilight film . Finally, i like going out with my friends , because we can talk about our problems and worries and have a great time.....How was your christmas holiday?
That's all for now. I'll be waiting for your reply...
happy 2012 And i hope we will not die..!!!!!!!!
