Hi to all ESC-fans!
The picture in Semifinale 1 is very clear and has not changed the past 2 days (expect Greece and Turkey swapping ranks). In this run we now have at least 6 countries according to the OGAE DESK VOTE IN DÜSSELDORF which are pretty sure, I would suggest with a 100% chance for a ticket to the Final.
These are:
AZERBAIJAN
RUSSIA
NORWAY
GREECE
TURKEY
HUNGARY
Since yesterday, the gap to Finland and Poland in position 7/8 is widening. So all 4 entrants of Finland, Poland, Armenia and Iceland still really have to fight for their points.
In this semifinal we have some strong outsiders, Serbia (ranking 10 yesterday), Switzerland (very likeable and good performances) and even Georgia could be a dark horse, as we have seen in previous years with rock entries and countries from the East (Ukraine + Russia 2010).
Personally I would rather see Serbia and Switzerland qualify than Armenia or Iceland.
And I must say, I still cannot believe Azerbaijan is winning this semifinal, as this entry is nothing special in my eyes - and ears. If I could decide, I would send them home, cause I think the performance is boring as the song, very repetitive and I have the strong feeling, I have heard that sort of song hundred of times on the radio. Well, I guess I am wrong.
About this graphic:
In Düsseldorf, as in Moscow 2009 and Oslo 2010, accredited journalists and fans can cast their votes for the Semifinal 1 + 2 at the OGAE DESK.
For these past 2 years this voting seem to correlate with the real results much better than the ogae country votes or even the betting odds (see oddschecker.com).
In 4 semifinals we look at, the OGAE DESK VOTE had 7, 8 and 2x 9 Qualifiers correct! Which is amazing! In fact, one of these times all 10 would have been correct, but due to the Jury's vote, another country was selected.
