About me
Helloooo Europe - Anthony calling, from the seaside resort of Blackpool! I'm just one of the millions of fans from Europe's favourite TV show, the Eurovision Song Contest and have been a Eurovision fan since 2001. And I'm also a Seasiders/Tangerines fan.

Having listened to all 5 of Ireland's EuroSong 2012 entries and here's my verdict on the 5 entries.
Entry 1: Mistaken by Celtic Whisper and Maria McCool
This reminds me of Slovakia’s entry Horehronie in 2010; a strong Celtic folk based entry sung in English.
Entry 2: Mercy by Donna McCaul
With the help of two Swedish composers, this is a pop/dance based entry and this certainly sounds very Katy Perry-ish! Plus a hint of Ke$ha thrown in for good measure.
Entry 3: Here I Am by Andrew Mann
It’s a ballad based entry and it’s quite a pleasant one. Andrew Mann no doubt has a superb voice!
Entry 4: Language of Love by Una Gibney and David Shannon
This is mainly a power ballad based entry. It is quite a harmonious entry and it reminds me of the UK’s 1997 entry Love Shine a Light.
P.S. Bear in mind, if you remember any Eurovision entries with the exact same name, bear in mind song titles CANNOT be copyrighted when it comes to the Eurovision Song Contest. (This was discussed at the time the entries were revealed during the Mooney Show on RTE Radio 1)
Entry 5: Waterline by Jedward
Last year it was Danish, this year it’s Swedish composers. Jedward’s entry this year sounds completely different to last year’s Lipstick. It’s another up-tempo pop entry and I’m a tad surprised by this.

Irish entries. by Chad Brown
Jedward's song is decent, Language of Love is far too cheesy for Modern Eurovision but my vote would go to Donna McCaul because Mercy is a fantastic modern...
