In an interview on the Irish National News Radio Station USA Secretary of State Hilary Clinton discussed a number of steps that the USA were to take to help the Irish economy, including hosting next years contest in New York should Irish twins Jedward win this contest.
Mrs Clinton referred to the crisis in the economy and how anything that the USA could do to help would be done. She referred to the close connection between Ireland and the US and her interest in the contest. Hilary Clinton is sponsored by the massive US Media network NBC America Ltd who have agreed to put up the funding to host the show.
Mrs Clinton was in Europe as part of a series of meetings and conferences on the Lybia situation. When asked about similar help to other counteries she indiciated that she has also extended a similar offer to the presidents of Portugal, Spain and Greece.
