Mika and Nadia?
Steady on, almost split my G&T at the thought of it - almost.
Bring back Cliff and Lulu at least we'd have a better chance.
And before you say it, yes I am that old!
;-)
Reply from Brendan:
Never mind ur G&T did you know that Cliff wants to duet with SuBo and she has already sung live with Daniel O Donnell (bet your a huge fan -- hes actually a lovely guy - no he is)

Actually if SuBo and Daniel sang for ESC that would be a joint UK and Irish entry so we would both have 12 pts lol

stick with Nadia and Mika I think - The song title will be something like Its Raining Willies

LOL

Jury and televote agreed on the winner and the loser.
Think they were definitely right as far as our entry was concerned.

Unsurprisingly Lena's now off the UK Top 100 chart and losing to Germany certainly won't be doing any favours either.
I wonder if the UK would take Eurovision seriously now that the contest next year is at........
Germany.
Reply from Brendan:
Anthony

it's not very likely lol

but I think josh made a better effort than the England team last night lol

Re Lena,
Not really surprised that it's not done as well here. My other half liked it to begin with but now hates it - mainly because of the various "English" accents.
I think it's OK - wasn't my favourite on the night though.
Reply from Brendan:
I got use to it over the weeks before the contest wasn't the worse winner but still

interest in the uk or lack of it doesn't help the winning song chart well although Alexander did ok last year, but a one hit wonder I fear

I know that the British media are furious but think about it. If 13 years without a Eurovision win is not bad enough, then England haven't won the World Cup in 44 years (always blamed on penalties) AND the UK have not won Wimbledon in over 70 years (OVER 70 YEARS!!!).

Hey, Brendan, you persistent fighter through connection fails of eurovision.tv! I was even more upset about constant seeing of error statements on my screen when trying to get in there than about the fail of Aisha. To say the truth, I really think that our this year's song was much better than the last year's one, and I like Aisha (I've watched the Talent show from A to Z where she won her victory here at the age of 17), and she's a nice, good-humoured girl, and in fact I like the song itself, too, but... yeah, the main problem here, to my perceptionh, was her failure to sing well live. OK, I'm not deaf and blind, and I see that there are plenty good songs (and singers) in this year's ESC.:)
BUT. I really also sonsider that there were at least a couple of countries that did not deserve getting in the Final from the first Semi. Ehh.:(
Today's Josh's evening.:) I'll keep my fingers crossed that he sings (and moves ;p) well this awful song. ;p
Reply from Brendan:
HI Anna - glad you have not fallen out with me lol

I dont understand the connection failures on this site, overload with people watching the shows on line is one possible options - but its frustrating

Im sure Aisha is very sweet, just the song was dire (sorry). I was happy that Romina, Ireland and Cyprus made it out of semi final 2 - still in shock over Croatia. Sweden, I never liked the song from the outset so wasnt that surprised

So, I have started the food for tonights show and getting ready to party :-) (again) lol

Yep, I cannae wait for the Semis and the final.

I'm a bit bemused and embarrassed by the UK entry tho - it's our worst song since Jemini.

Sure some country with an ironic sense of humour will give us 1 point - but that's all we're getting and all we deserve with such an awful song.

Poor Josh, I don't think he realized the has-been songwriters were gonna make him the next Jemini when he auditioned.

He should walk out in protest on the night. That's what I'd do.

I honestly think we should forgo our free pass in future for this insult to music and the Eurovision spirit. Our attitude to Eurovision stinks.

That said, never before have so many great songs appeared in the same semi-final let alone the same Eurovision. Shame the UK isn't one of them :)

Will we ever grow up? :P

oh dont go there -------- poor josh how can he make any serious effort with such a bad song

This year the final version of songs is really strong - its going to be wide open

There is one angle at least the Uk entry is better than Dustin the Turkey ----- or is it?

EXCUSE YOU ME

IM chairman of the Astrid and Guri fan club --- in fact I think if Norway win this year its down to these to ladies

Mind you by the time they are finished Norway will be thrown out of the U.N. but it would be worth it lol
