Review Of The ESC 2011 Songs: United Kingdom

First Thought:
First time I heard this song, was when there was leaked a sneak peak of the song on 30 seconds, the day before the song would be presented, and from that sneak peak then I didn’t really what to say, but okay it did sound, then the next day when I heard the whole song, then I was impressed, after all this failing years from the United Kingdom, then finally they were able to choose something good, also quite funny to think about the fact that Blue was selected internally by BBC.

My Review:
Even the day today, I still really like the song, it is a great song and this is the first time since 2006 that I will cheer for the UK, then in this case it is pretty like that I got the UK flag, but anyways, the way it grew on me that much, is only because I had to run a program made by my school about a training program, and I must say this song helped me a lot, running 5km with a song that says ‘’I Can, I Will, I know I Can’’ that helped, so I hope this year will be great for the UK, and I think they can get top 3.

Future:
I will for sure listen to this song more and more while we awaiting the contest to begin, but I am also 100 % sure that I also want to listen to the song even after the contest, in case it should fail completely, then I don’t think it will change my opinion about the song, because I like it a lot, and believe that it will do well, but then the question is for how long do I want to listen to this song, which I am unsure about at the moment.

Bookmakers:
This year it might end good for the United Kingdom, because the bookmakers believes that the UK can be in the match for winning the contest year 2011, the highest odds at this moment is on 269/37 which is really low, and also the lowest odds being on only 4/1, the UK is seen to be placed on 2nd place in this case, while the bookmakers favorite is another country from West Europe.

Compared To Former Entries: (2004-2010):
The United Kingdom has had great entries in all the years the UK have been in the competition, but compared to only the songs from since 2004, then I must this year is the best song from the UK since 2004, other songs that have been okay from the UK is from 2005 & 2006, but the rest from 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010 have been big failures, and even dough UK got on fifth in 2009, then I still think it was the worst of them all, but no doubt that this year’s UK entry is the best since 2004.
