About me

Hello my fellow Eurovision fans! I've been following Eurovision since 2007, but the first Eurovision song I've ever heard is "Fly on the wings of love" as a chart song played on Chinese radio. I'm open to almost all types of music, but indie rock is my favourite. I love folk music in general, and there's nothing greater than gathering all European folk sounds on Eurovision. I'm currently interning for China Radio International at Beijing. +me on msn: gloriamimi@sohu.com +me on facebook: Huizhi Chen my youtube account: gloriachenhuizhi

Hi all fans, here are my comments on all First Semi-final performances. Let's congratulate those who qualified but remember that every artist has done his or her best to put out a great show for all Eurovision viewers:)

1.Poland

There are always forgetable songs after a show and unforgetable ones like Poland's. The melody of "Jestem" sticks in my mind long time after the show. "Jestem" I think is one of the best songs this year. Magdalena gave a convincing performance. I think she would have a better chance had she not been the first to come to the stage!

2.Norway

A very simple song but so much happier than it's simple on the stage. I feel really sorry that Stella's performance can't be seen again in the Final. Like some say it might be for Stella's weak voice which failed to grab the jury.

3.Albania

The song is powerful and Aurela's performance was very sincere. To tell the truth I don't like the song itself that much, but the performance was surely not bad.

4.Armenia

"Boom boom" is a very memorable song. I'd like to compare it with Azerbaijan's 2009 entry "Always", but the latter is much more with an "impact".

5.Turkey

I think Turkey has a weak rock song this year, no wonder even diasporas were not able to vote it into the Final. And the performance with the caged artist was a bit creepy:(

6.Serbia

I think "Caroban" is a proper nice song and the girls' performance was sweet. I didn't predict that it would go to the final maybe only because I have always been expected more from Serbia after 2007:)

7.Russia

The opening part of the performance was a bit narcissistic, but the rest was quite good. Alexey is very handsome and who says he can't sing or dance. The song is ok, not bad!

8.Switzerland

It's great to see Switzerland back in the Final after these years. The song is sweet and the singer is ok. But I predict the song won't rank high in the Final...

9.Georgia

"One More Day" is one of my favorite songs this year. I'm grateful that Eldrine changed the vocalist after the National Final. The new singer is very good. Some people have noted that this song might be too heavy for Eurovision, but I think it will do well now that it has qualified!

10.Finland

Some say the boy tries to imitate Tom Dice from last year, but the boy just moves the audience in his own way. The message of "Da Da Dam" is so simple and like some say childish/idealistic enough, but it won't change the fact that it's one of the most touching songs on the contest this year.

11.Malta

The song is not bad, but to me it's only mediocre.

12.San Marino

I actually like the song! I like the singer's voice, so gentle. She's one of the best singers on the contest this year. Considering the influence of neighbor voting, I thought it would have a hard time qualifying. It's a shame that it didn't go to the final, but Senit's performance remains unforgetable to me.

13.Croatia

I never take to like this song. Croatia you could have done better! Feminnem last year was good, but it was a shame that it didn't qualify. But the best Croatian entry from recent years to me is "Lijepa Tena" from 2009.

14.Iceland

Trust me, I still feel sorry that Yohanna with her beautiful and strong "Nott" is not in the contest...But "Coming Home" turns out to be a very heart-warming song and I actually like it. Thinking about the story behind the song while listening to it, I found my eyes welling up....

15.Hungary

"What About My Dreams" is one of my favorite songs this year. After years of effort I think Hungary can get very close to winning this time. Some say Kati Wolf is a Celine-Dion-wannabe, but I say Kati Wolf is who she is. I hope she gives an even more confident performance in the Final!

16.Portugal

I like this song. The performance was very dramatic and interesting. I feel sorry that voters didn't get it.

17.Lithuania

The performance was great and better than I thought it would be. I thought it could be boring... The message is sweet and the sign language part is very nice.

18.Azerbaijan

I know many people like "Running Scared", but I don't like it all that much. The song sounds to me mediocre and the vocals are not very good. Glad that the boy has grown some beard so he wouldn't have to look so...boyish...

19.Greece

I don't like the studio sound of the song, but the stage made a difference. It's kind of a magia that Greece is able to keep above in the contest for years, but Greece has a way:)
