A little story about me
Hello,
My name is Grettel,
I am very outgoing, friendly, and I can be very nice but I’m not scared to say what I think. My friends would probably say that I am smart but too hard headed and I tend not to argue with them about it (especially about the hard headed part). My family and I discovered Eurovision thanks to TVE so I am eternally grateful to Spain!!! :) I love making friends and learning from others opinions, views, and cultures. So far this year, I have a lot going on with college etc, but I am looking forward to getting submerged with ESC as soon as I get vacation :) Honestly it's hard to describe myself in few words so all I can really say is that if there’s more you want to know all you have to do is ask, and I wil gladly answer.

How are you? What's new? :)
What's going on in Miami? :)
How is your graduation? :)
By Alexander Mesheriakov
Many thanks for your wishes, they will help me a lot. :)
I have passed two other workshops in this week and I have only one exam left at the 11th June, and I will be free 'til July.
The very same I wish to you to graduate and to like your future place of studying. And when you enter it for the first time, wish you to shine a beam of happiness, which will bring smiles to everyone you know, to your family and friends. :D
So, what's new, what's going on in Miami? Has the weather improved?
It was hot in the morning today in Moscow, but after 6 pm it started to rain and became a bit cooler. :)

Many thanks to you for everything and don't worry about the ESC video, I am not in a hurry. :)
The building, which is pictured in my profile, is The Holy Family Cathedral in Koenigsberg, today known as Kaliningrad. There is a conservatory in that building. :)
Kaliningrad is my favourite city in Russia cuz not only it is located in Russia, but it also reminds my childhood in Germany. :)
I want to leave Moscow and to move to that city, if sincerely. :(
Moscow has become absolutely impossible for living, only to visit it as a tourist. And quite a lot of ESC delegations in Moscow had problems with very expensive accomodation here, so they had to live in their embassies. :(
I wanted to buy Eurovision souvenirs to commemorate it, but I couldn't cuz of high prices. :(
So, I hope to do it, mean to leave Moscow, but people tell me not to do that, cuz it is very difficult to find a job there. :(
Never mind.
The weather has changed today, now it shines a lot and became very hot. :)
I am going to end exams in the middle of June and in July I will have a practice in the Ministery of International Affairs. :)

..thanks on the comment =)
By Alexander Mesheriakov
The busiest one weekend, I think, cuz I was doing the last part of my course paper all days round and I finished it fully only at night before Monday. :)
Oh, and I also made a review on my book Oliver Twist today at my English studies. :)
So, I feel very good and relieved now.
How is the weather in Miami? It's still very cloudy in Moscow and sometimes it rains - I am so tired of it.
Wish you to have the very best graduation in the world - an unforgettable one, with a lot of smiles on your face. :)
By Alexander Mesheriakov
How are you, what's new? :)
How are your exams? :) I hope that everything is all right.
I have passed today my course paper exam and with an excellent mark. :)
Finaly a free week, I am going to have all other exams in June. :)

What a wonderful show this year. Of course I am quite disappointed about Soraya's ranking. But so many good songs this year, and I am very happy for Alexander, he has given himself to the public. I enjoy also Yohanna from Iceland, so magic.

I am at the moment couldn't record it, cuz I have to do quite a lot of things in my Academy, tomorrow is written test in English - an essay. And monday I have to tell about my course paper. That's why I have to forget about ESC for a while.

Am having a very busy Friday because I have 35 people coming for dinner tomorrow night. They are all visiting lecturers from all over Europe and they arrive tomorrow for a week of intensive project work with our students (by the way, don't know if I told you but I am a languages lecturer at a university here in Germany). Anyway, it is kind of a tradition that on the first night everyone comes to my house and I cook enough food to feed an army and we all have a great time. Hope it will be great this year too. And though the cooking part can be a bit stressful, at the same time I enjoy it cos it is one of my biggest hobbies.
Just listening to a song called "Undress to the beat" by a German singer called Jeannette Biedermann (you can look it up on youtube if you wanna hear it). It's a really good dance track and was one of the songs put forward for the German pre-selection for Eurovision this year. Unfortunately they chose the worst of the three songs, and I really think that if they had chosen Jeannette then Germany might have stood SOME chance, but with that turkey of a song they opted for in the end, well, guess it'll be "Germany no points" on the big night..
Thanks for sending your e-mail address and I will send you some photos of where I love in Germany sometime over the next few days so that you can see what it is like. Also I'll try to find some pics of me and Thomas, as there should be wuite a few of those floating about too somewhere on my computer. Think I need to organise my files in a more user-friendly way, cos then I might have SOME chance of being actually able to FIND things again when I need them, hehe.
Anyway, enjoy your weekend and I'm going to go now because there is a big storm coming so will go on my balcony to watch it (I love watching storms).
Be good, talk to you soon,
Momo

Interesting week you have, really. :)
I also did quite a lot of things, gonna to end my course paper soon. :)
Thank goodness, everything is good with you and your family.
Yes, it was a Labour day, but nowadays it is just a good day for having family meetings or going to a countryside to grow veggies and herbs and so on. :)
Are you going to watch Angels and Demons with Tom Hanks? :)
And how do you like the hosts. I guessed right that Ivan Urgant is going to be a host and I had such an idea since October. :)

So, you had such a busy week. Congratulations for everything you have done. :D
I am also busy cuz I have to finish my course paper about conflict in Cyprus and finish reading for English "Oliver Twist" by Dickens.
I spent my holidays very good. I went with my Grandma to her brother and we had a holiday party there. :)
I was watching news about Swine flu and I was so worried about you. :(
Everything is fine. The feeling of ESC is so close, can't wait it to start. But I still regret I didn't become a volunteer at the ESC and now this is reasonable. Yesterday I should have a workshop which is rather difficult and that's why I decided not to be a volunteer cuz I wanted to pass it very good. But my docent announced that the workshop will be delayed till the end of May or beginning of June. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH" - I cried in my mind - "I rejected the ability to become a volunteer for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING". I had such a shock yeterday that I was like a stout wall all day long.
That's why I was so happy to receive your message, it was like a sunshine in the kingdom of darkness. :D

Me and my family are ok (at least until now), I got scared because I had some symptoms, but I immediately went to the doctor and he diagnosed a throat infection, but nothing even close to the swine flu, so I only have to be thankful.
Again, thanks so much for your words, and hey, if you're ever in Mexico City (after this, of course), I'll be glad to show you around!!!
Take care, I'll get back to you soon
By Alexander Mesheriakov
Good luck, have a nice weekend. :D
By Alexander Mesheriakov
Thanks, my day was fine, I had English and German today. :D That's what I call "magic moment". :)
So again, be careful with that swine flu and try to eat a little more onion and garlic. I know they smell unpleasant but it's one of the ways to protect yourself. :)
And drink hot drinks, tea with sugar and honey so that you sweat.
In Russia at the moment is the situation not so bad, but it will happen soon, unfortunaetly. :(
Everything would be fine. :)
How was your day? :) What's new in Miami
I am going to have from 1st till 3rd May holidays and I will spend them by my Granny, I am going tomorrow on 30th April. She doesn't have a computer so I cannot contact you in these 3 days.

Nice to meet you too. I'm glad that more people from US are interested in Eurovision. It is truly an interesting show, despite of what some critics say. Which song do you like the most this year?
By Alexander Mesheriakov
Thanks a lot, it's going to be the best ESC - multilingual. :)
Have an excellent grandnight tomorrow, wish you all the best there and spend it so good, that it will be memorable forever. :)
I was busy today because me and my mates organise an Anniversary party for our decane, so I went to mall to buy some important Happy Birthday stuff like candles and baloons and learn three songs to perform for him:
Joe Dassin, Status Quo and mine in Turkish by Sezen Aksu. :)
The anniversary is on 26th April, that's why we will celebrate it on 27th. :)
By Alexander Mesheriakov
Yes, to record. I decided this year to collect shows of ESC 2009 in different languages as a souvenir. :) I have the Spanish versions of 2007 and 2008 and must say that I enjoyed watching them and I loved the language. :D
I am going to record Russian and Turkish versions and if possible, can you record the Final from TVE for me please. :)

Of course, it is really nice when such events are so close to your house.
Can I ask you something: you watch ESC via TVE, can you make TVRip or SATRip videos?
By Alexander Mesheriakov
I am fine. Thanks for explaining me the meaning of Highschool seniors. :)
Today we had a conference about global chrisis where some of my mates participated. I was playing a role the same as a TV viewer at ESC: I voted for the best.
The weather was rather nice, not so cool as yesterday. :)
Did some work at home and now I am free and listening to Status Quo. :)
The day could be nice if one fact didn't spoil it: I lost my chance to be a volunteer at the ESC as a planned: I read from the news that the campaign is over. :( :( And I had no idea where to try to find out how to become a volunteer, nowhere was written about it and I was waiting for the information.
So I am unhappy. :(
But never mind, there is no need to cry over spilt milk. :)
Tell me better about your day, how are you. You said that it was rainy, I would prefer the weather to be rainy but warm, because I am so tired of frost. :)
By Anastasiya B
by the way, What singer from eurovosion is your favourite?
By Phill Stybar
Glad you enjoyed my blog - i'm certainly looking forward to the judges evening out the voyting this year.
My favourites so far this year (without having seen the performances that is!)? Erm.....probably Greece, Sweden, Belgium, and of course, the United Kingdom who I think stand a real chance this year!
By Alexander Mesheriakov
Good luck with your studies too and good luck with your exams, you will pass them. :)
What was your day? Mine was the boring because I haven't any studies today and had to be at home. But I have done quite a lot of things today. :)
I finished my work about political scientist and wrote quite a lot in my course paper. :)
I also went to the mall to buy some food and important stuff.
Tell me please who is a Highschool senior? Has it the same meaning as Highschool headmaster? :)
And Disney Park - do you mean that in Orlando or it is something diffrerent? :)

And 1000 times thanks for Easter cheers and for info about Dali's Museum. :D
And congratulations for college. :)
Everything is fine, but I have to translate into russian a big report about Karl Deutsch, the political scientist from Harvard and it's sooo difficult cuz there is no information about him in Russian. :)
The weather is not good in Moscow, sunny but became very cold and frosty again and even snowfalls happen, I am so tired of it. :(
At the moment I'm writing a course paper about the modern history of Cyprus. :)

Umm.. about this year- I really wouldn't know. I think the song from Azerbeijan is really nice. Loved the Moldovan Balkan Hora song (we have the Hora dance in Israel, too, hehe:). And I'm also biased and I liked our song (Noa and Mira...) and the Norwegian song too. Oh and I almost forgot the Finnish song's kinda fun too!
I geuss those are pretty much the ones I remembred listening to and that I liked:)

My opinion is that she has very strong voice, which is ideal for performing ethnical songs. That she sings half Ukranian is a little bit embarassing. But it's OK, Russia is not the only one contestant performing such way. Latvia's going to sing in Russian. :) Russian song is OK, and the singer is nice. :)

How are you doing?
You have quite a broad taste in music.
I always wondered why any nationwide channel like ABC hasn't come up yet with the idea of an American version of the ESC. Think of it. In stead of country it would be states competing.
I'm sure this would be a hit. Just look at the success of 'American Idol'...
By the way, I was in Florida last month.
It was my first time in the States and I really liked it.

It's nice to meet you, too!!! Well... everything's doing fine around here, thank you, very much.
I also discovered Eurovision thanks to TVE, it was 7 yrs ago while Spanish national broadcaster used to pick their representative through Operación Triunfo (kinda Idols / Star Academy).
Since then, I've become a big eurofan. Actually, I'll be in Moscow next May to attend the live shows. Nowadays my favourite entries are Spain of course, Portugal, Finland, Denmark, Turkey, Norway, Greece, Azerbaijan, France and the UK.
Hope to hear from you soon.

But Russia this year was a bit in a strange way, when chossed Prihodko, to present the hostess of the contest 2009)))There was some more attractive singers!

I really can't choose any song, that would be the best! I know Kaas, she's very famous in Europe, the song of the UK representative was written by the most talented composer of the end of the XX century - Andrew Lloyd Veber.
So' many people think that Norway can win this year, really don't understand them...
