Neighbouring votes

Of course we vote for the music we like the best. And as I recall, Israel have won three times. But last year it just wasn't very good. Sending an earlier winner didn't work for neither Israel nor Ireland. The only really bad neighbour sharing votation, which never fails, is Cyprus and Greece.

And then I always notice that Immigrant countries vote heavily on the home countries of their their immigrants. Like Israel tends to give many points to Russia. But again, if the song is really poor, even this doesn't work. For instance, last year, before the ESC we said "Turkey can send a barking dog to the Eurovision semi final, and still end up in the grand final." But justice prevailed.

Finally it is natural to vote on a neighbouring country where the musical language and the spoken language is understandable. And Balkan has a somehow different touch.

So good luck Israel! And if you sung in another language than evrit, it might also help...
