I had a chance to interview the Swiss representatives, Sinplus. Two brothers, Ivan and Gabriel, will fly to Baku with their entry 'Unbreakable'. They told escwebs more about their entry and who was their favourite in the Swiss national final...
First of all, thank you for your time and congratulations! You won the Swiss national final in December, what are your feelings after the final?
Thank you, it's great to be there and talk with you guys! The feeling is amazing, we took a couple of weeks to realize the win; there are so many interviews and contacts at the beginning that one doesn't have the time to think about what he did. Now we're already working for Baku, we're are so exited to go to Azerbaijan and we will try to do the best!
Had you ever imagined that you would be representing Switzerland one day? Are you Eurovision fans?
We think that a music contest with more than 40 represented lands is awesome! Sometimes we watched it on TV, it's a big big show! We are proud to represent our country.
About your song, was it written for Eurovision Song Contest? What is its message?
Unbreakable is like all our songs a thought that we try to translate in music. It's brings a positive and universal message; it tells you to "You can do it", you can follow your dreams! It tells you to be unbreakable. In Switzerland there are not so many chances for musicians and Eurovision is a great way to get our sound out of Switzerland. As we wrote the text of the song, we thought about Eurovision! The song has a different style comparing to the classic Eurovision sound, it's much more rock 'n roll. It's time for rock to do well!
