About me
It is because of the unusual events which preceded the national selection here in Iceland that the song „Coming home“ will be performed by us but not the author himself, Sigurjon Brink. Sigurjon Brink, or Sjonni as he was called, wrote the Icelandic song „Coming home“ with his wife, Thorunn Erna Clausen. Only a couple of weeks before the national selection Sjonni died very suddenly The song „Aftur heim“ , or as it is called in English "Coming home" struck a chord with the Icelandic people, not only for it's catchy, melodic tune and joyful arrangement, but also for the message It is because of this strange twist of fate that we, Sigurjon´s friends, will represent Iceland in the 2011 Eurovision song contest in Dusseldorf. Sjonni was a dear friend to us all and we all had the Hopefully „Coming home“ will strike a chord in the hearts of you as well!"...

Unfortunaly that you can't get 12 points from your own country, and as I can see, Iceland will compete in the 1. Semi-final, and there is many Eastern European countries in that semi-final.
Do you believe you can go to the final? Because many believe that many countries are giving points to thier neighbour countries, and it looks like Norway and UK is the only closest countries, will that be enough to get to the final?
If yes, then how great do you guys believe you can get on the scoreboard in the final. and at least, have any of you heard some of the other 42 songs?
If yes again, then which countries, and how do you think they sound if they are good or bad.
Regards.
David. :-)

We will do our best. We don't know if that will get us to the final but we hope it will =)David Popescu says • 18/Mar 2011 at 02:22
Congratulation on winning the icelandic national final, and let me say that it's a very great thing you guys do for your friend. It was a big shame when Sjonni died, and I believe you guys do him one big favour, and that's really nice done by you guys. :-)
I also got one kind of question, because many people think that your song won, because of Sjonni's death, then if you guys have to be honest, then what would you believe. 1) That you won because it was the best song, 2) Because what happend to Sjonni, or 3) a little of both.
Good luck on 10 May 2011.
Regards.

Hi David,we have believed in this song from the first time Sjonni let us hear it so of course we think it is the best song! We were also the winners for the Icelandic jury on the night of the final. Of course you can never rule out that what happened had some effect on the the Icelandic voting but our perspective is, that if a song moves you and you like it - for whatever reason - then we don't feel that the reason behind the voting makes all the difference but we´ve also heard from many many people that they voted for the song because they tought it was the best song =)
