Melodifestivalen 2009, part 1

Posted 9/Feb 2009 at 19:47 By Toni S.

On Saturday, I watched the first semifinal of Melodifestivalen 2009. I never got to my computer to write this "report", but here I am, after an exhausting Monday at school.
I am trying to write something about every act in Göteborg. So without further ado, let's begin!

1. Nina Söderquist - "Tick Tock"
The show started with Nina Söderquist's Tick Tock. The performance was full of pyros and leather. I think that Nina's singing was strong, but i didn't fancy the performance.

scale 1-5
Performance: 3
Song: 3½

2. Jonathan Fagerlund - "Welcome To My Life"
I think that this act seemed kind of dull after Tick Tock. To be honest, I don't even remember this song.

Performance: don't remember
Song: 2+

3. Shirley Clamp - "Med Hjärtat Fyllt av Ljus"
A beautiful ballad and a stylish performance from Shirley.
One of the best in Göteborg.

Performance: 4
Song: 4

4. Scotts - "Jag Tror på Oss"
I don't see anything special about this song, but the crowd seemed to like it. Performance... well, typical for a rock/pop song like this. Very forgettable.

Performance: 3
Song: 3-

5. Emilia - "You're my World"
A good performance, but the song is a little bit... boring and childish. Of course a keychange and pyros.

Performance: 4-
Song: 4-

6. Alcazar - "Stay The Night"
Alcazar was clearly my favourite in Göteborg. Catchy tune, great performance, keychange... Everything a good Eurovision song should be. And don't forget the pink microphones!

Performance: 4½
Song: 5-

7. Caroline af Ugglas - "Snälla, Snälla"
This weirdo had great contrast after Alcazar. I actually kind of like it. Maybe a bit weird for the ESC audience. Well, Caroline did go to Andra Chansen so she still has a chance...

Performance: 3
Song: 3+

8. Marie Serneholt - "Disconnect Me"
Marie was the wildcard with Disconnect Me. A good song, OK performance... I don't know what went wrong, but the Swedes did not like it.

Performance: 3½
Song: 4
