THE TOPPERS: A SUCCESS STORY What began in May 2004 as a one-off event with three successful Dutch solo artists, has now grown into a very successful tradition. Toppers in Concert – René Froger, Gordon and Gerard Joling – has broken each and every record since. Toppers in Concert; the biggest party in history! ‘The Sing-a-long-song party of the year’. This is the show that thousands and thousands of people look forward to each year. More than 850.000 people have enjoyed these shows in The Amsterdam ArenA. During these high energy shows, the audience merge to become one big happy family. Young and old, rich and poor, white and coloured, straight and gay people - for one night united as one! The audience of friends, family and colleagues, dressed up from top to toe, enjoy the show together. The Toppers are very successful. More than 1.500.000 cd’s and dvd’s sold (all number 1 positions in the charts) and fourteen completely sold out shows in the Amsterdam ArenA remind us of this success. The success of The Toppers can be traced back to the following. The much talked about and hysterical trio combine, for over four years now, their own hit singles with the biggest national and international hit songs. Songs that are familiar to everybody and are easy to sing along to. The show itself bursts with energy and is viewed as an unequalled spectacle with international allure. The last couple of years has featured famous artists such as Engelbert Humperdinck, The Trammps and Boney M. They all claimed that The Toppers concerts were the best live show experience in their entire careers. 2009 is the year in which The Toppers celebrate their 5th anniversary. It is also the year in which The Toppers proudly announced Jeroen van der Boom as being the new Topper. He has now taken the place of former Topper, Gerard Joling. Jeroen van der Boom is one of the best entertainers in Holland. The year 2009 will be a special year for The Toppers; not only will they perform Toppers in Concert in the Amsterdam ArenA this summer, they will also be competing in the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow.
