Group 1 starts us off headed by Big 5 member Spain!!
The songs in this group are pretty decent and I wouldn’t be surprised if they all qualified to the final.

Spain – “Quédate Conmigo” by Pastora Soler
Score: 18/20

This song is a very sweet and powerful ballad. It builds up very nicely and only gets better. Spain has finally sent a song that I like and this year it actually deserves its spot in the final.

Cyprus – “La La Love” by Ivi Adamou
Score: 14/20

This one is our typical Eurovision song of the group. It’s very happy and very good but she’s gonna have to give it her all because this song peaks quite quickly and then it starts to sound like repetition. I love the chorus though, I have no doubt that it will qualify.

Denmark – “Should’ve Known Better” by Soluna Samay
Score: 17/20

This is my favourite of the group; it’s a very hearty song and I think she has a beautiful voice. Denmark knows no games and never sends mediocrity and this is no exception. However she will need to really work on this one if she wants a top 10 spot.

Hungary – “Sound Of Our Hearts” by Compact Disc
Score: 14/20

Everything about this song hears 2012. I’m not sure how this one will do but I hope it qualifies. It’s very modern and the song transforms as it progresses.

Belgium – “Would You” by Iris
Score: 12/20

Belgium always sends these songs that are at the interface between good and good-enough and this one doesn’t stand far from the crowd. It’s very pleasing to but I’m gonna have to fall in love with it.

Finland – “När Jag Blundar” by Pernilla Karlsson
Score: 19/20

This is just what I love to see at the contest. This song is one of my favourites for top 10. I have nothing else to say, but smile. I’m no Swede, but what she’s singing doesn’t sound anything like Swedish.

Montenegro – “Euro Neuro” by Rambo Amadeus
Score: 16/20

There’s always one, and this time it is our returnee Montenegro. This song is brilliant! It is different, non-conforming and hands-down creative. I hope it does well.
