As wel all know, Greece is one of the most succeful countries in the contest; at least in the last years. Starting in 2001 with Antique, the Balkan country has managed to reach the 10 top positions ever since (except in 2002 and 2003), along came Sakis (twice, in 2004 and 2009), Sarbel, Anna Vissi, Kalomoria, and Girogos & friends, and of course, Elena Paparizou, winning the contest in 2005.
For this year national final, a bunch of songs were chosen. Everyone's favourite was Nikki Ponte's "I don't wanna dance".. but for some reason, Loukas Giorkas and Stereo Mike won, with the song "Watch my dance".
Now, in my opinion, this is a song wich really deserves to represent Greece. Many people may not agree with me, but i'd tell them to pay attention to the lyrics: they're so deep and mean a lot to greeks. (as we know, economic and political troubles are being lived in that country), so this song tries to say "i'll get up, i'll be strong, my soul burns all fears"... much more significative than a bare "i don't wanna dance, dance alone"...
Furthermore, the music is delightful. Zeimpekiko has the power of making people dance and vibrate.. let's hope Lukas dances it with the same passion he sings.
Generally, i love this song.
Ehat do you think? Will Greece reach the final this year? Will it end in a decent position once more?
