A substantially large crowd of journalists gathered for the Malta press conference this morning from 11.30am onwards
Glen managed to keep the crowd present at the conference well entertained with his amusing comments and by singing a cappella three songs namely, ‘Marija il-Maltija’ as his favourite Maltese song, a gospel song which he sang together with Pamela, Angie and Isabelle and of course ‘One Life’.
Throughout the conference Glen stressed the message of the song is to live and let live, no matter who we are, no matter what we do, and quoted part of the song ‘don’t try to judge me, you don’t know how I feel, love me for who I am’. When asked why all the team was wearing white sunglasses, he promptly replied that the idea reflects the message of the song, everyone sees life from a different lens, everyone has his own perception of life, it is up to us to accept others as they are. Glen continued that the priority of the whole team is to give an excellent vocal performance and hopefully make it to the final. Moreover, he added that it would be the best way to celebrate his 28th birthday on the Eurovision stage.
During the conference Glen mentioned that he learned a lot from the experience at the Junior Eurovision as the vocal coach of Nicole Azzopardi last November. Furthermore he added that this year, the Maltese National Final was very well organised and it was based on the Eurovision guidelines. Both experiences helped him prepare himself better for the Eurovision Song Contest.
Present for the conference together with Glen were Anton Attard, Head of Delegation, Fleur Balzan, Author, Paul Giordimaina, Composer, Peter Carbonaro, Artist Manager and the backing vocals and dancers. After the press conference, Glen gave several one-to-one interviews for a number of popular websites, TV and radio stations.
The next rehearsal is scheduled for Thursday 5th May from 16:00 to 19:30. Tonight the Maltese delegation is expected to join other Eurovision lovers at the Euroclub.
