Ryan Dolan – Only love survives (Ireland)
When? 13 at the first Semi Finals
About: Eurodance from Ireland. Not as hyperactive as Jedward but dance nonetheless. A YouTube phenomena Ryan slowly works his way to the main audience in his homecountry. The self penned song calls up memories from hits of Enrique Iglesias but then with an Irish accent: “We’re gonna live like it’s our last night alive / And we’re dancing till the morning light / And even if the sun don’t rise / In the end only love survives / So be love”. Dolan said, “I am thrilled to have been chosen to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest. I’d like to thank my family, friends and my mentor Stuart for all their support over the last few months. It’s such an honour to have been chosen to represent Ireland at Eurovision. I can’t wait to perform in Malmő in May.”
What do we thing: Dolan will suffer from half the contestants singing in English and performing with a Eurodance song in one form or another. On top off that he has number 13 as entry number. Stiff competition that’s called with bad karma.
