Yes, I knew you had two "new years". That must be great, new year is fantastic. Maybe you could have two Eurovisions as well? :D
Reply from marcus:
All Europe don't have two Eurovisions,Europe have three Eurovisions:Song contest,Junior song contest and Dance contest.Only two days to new year, and Ukraine today choose artist.Great!

As for selections with many songs: Melodifestivalen always had 10 or 12 songs, and I thought it was the same everywhere. I was so surprised when I joined the Eurovision fanclub and found there were countries with 20 songs or more in their finals. I was in shock! :)
Some countries can find 20 good songs, while some countries could well cut it down to 5 or so songs. I think quality is more important than the number of songs.
Reply from marcus:
Yes,but show is more exciting when more songs competing, but better is 10 good songs then 30 bad songs.

I think Miro look very promising. I hope the best for Bulgaria, they had a hard time getting their act together. As for Tom Dice, he looks like a sweet young man, but it all comes down to the song. Hopefully he will get something good to sing.
Reply from marcus:
Yes,they are great representative.I hope Miro and Tom Dice will take better place then Copycat and Krassimir Avramov.

I think Serbia is a most impressive Eurovision country, but maybe three Eurovision contests is a bit too much. Maybe it is better to focus only on the Song Contest?
Reply from marcus:
Well,Serbia on JESC has partipacinting 4 times and on ESC 3 times.I think Serbia will confirm EDC 2010 in Azerbaijan,Baku, because it more exciting when one country will partipanting on all Eurovision contests;ESC,JESC,EDC.

How popular is Junior Eurovision in Serbia? Do people watch it, do the newspapers write about it?
Reply from marcus:
Newspaper write about it but in the people, this is not so actually. In Serbia,ESC is most popular,JESC not much, for EDC,in Serbia only fans has heared for it.But i hope in Serbia Eurovision interess will grow.

I don't think they will make this provisional list public, so if any country signs up late, we will never know. I think they will only release the final list in December...
As you can tell, mathematics is not my thing when I get a tiny bit tired. :)
Reply from marcus:
I hope in ESC 2010 will be 40 or maximum 41 country.

Yes, that is true. You are a clever kid... :)
But I still just makes 31 countries for two semis = 14 in one, 15 in another. But I hope a few more countries will be there in the end.
Reply from marcus:
16 in 1st,15 in 2nd because 15+16=31 + Norway,Germany and United Kingdom=34 countries. But i meaned today is deadline to connfirm.Do EBU this time to decide make longer because little numbers of countries?

As for Montenegro: I really hope they come to Oslo. I belive all European countries should take part in the ESC to make it really credible. However, Montenegro could send better songs than they have. I know they have the resources for it, they had good songs before independence...
Reply from marcus:
In your newest blog,i seen 1 mistake. If 34 countries participanting,3 countries have enter directly to the final because then France and Spain do not partipanting.

I used to watch Junior ESC very closely when SVT took part for Sweden. Then it got harder for me to see it, and last year I missed it altogether... But I really liked the first year, when Dino from Croatia won. He was very good.
Reply from marcus:
I watch JESC this year first time, because i meaned JESC 2008 and earlier JESCs are on May,June...Now i know when is this year.I will vote for Belgium ir the Netherlands, but my favourite is Serbia (I cannot vote for Serbia because Serbia is my own country).

It is really good talking with you. You are so young, still you know so much and have so many opinions. You remind me a lot about myself when I was your age... :)

Yes, it is good that even this many countries is going to participate.
I am waiting quite similar contest in 2010 like it was in 2007, and it is a good thing.
And the semi-finals in Finland begins in January at 8th day and the final is at 30th day of January.
And Serbia is also going to participate?
Reply from marcus:
Yes,sure, but RTS [this is the serbian broadcaster]not yet decided.

If I could have my choice, I would send somebody like Antti Tuisku, Anna Puu, Chisu, Don Johnson Big Band... Some good, popular pop act. But out of the ones taking part in the 2010 Finnish final, I would prefer Maria Lund if she has a good song. Or Osmo Ikonen, who is a good singer but fairly unknown.
Reply from marcus:
I mean they're will be great.
