CONDOLENCES TO POLAND

‘When one member suffers (should) all the members suffer with it (?)’

and the answer implicitly supplied by the jolly Eurovision community, especially our much appreciated guest stars (ie Eurovision participants blogging here) is: Definitely not! Thanks God it didn't happen to us, we can go on talking (self promotion) nonsense, having fun and pretending NOTHING happened

here’s a little taste of Eurovision grotesque about how compassion has apparently grown out of fashion:

TRAGIC FACT - Yesterday the Polish people suffered a tremendous loss: their President, the First Lady and almost 100 others among which dozens of high dignitaries lost their lives in a plane crash.

AFTER THE TRAGIC EVENT: Thea and Safura, two of the Eurovision participants blogging here, were busy doing something far more important than paying condolences to the mourning nation. One was having her song translated into Greek (do all non-English speaking fans speak Greek!?) and the other was having a hard time roller skating and riding a mechanical bull. Oh well. All I can say is that some artists should stick to singing. They do themselves a huge disservice by revealing the ‘depths’ of their hearts like that. At this point their multilingual ‘dreams’ and plastic wings are not all that convincing to me.

Enough about role models.

The truth is I’m still in shock after hearing about the Polish tragedy. There is an entry this year (the Spanish one to be exact) on how small things can make a difference. So that's what I’m doing now by writing this blog. A small thing. I’m lighting a virtual candle for Poland. I know it won’t make any difference and I don’t care. It is important to me.
