maNga’s story began when Yağmur Sarıgül “Yamyam” (Guitar) seperated his ways with the cover band he played with at local bars. His plan for his new band was to combine rock music and electronic maNga’s recording adventure began in 2001 when Ferman suggested to join the song contest “Sing Your Song”. maNga took second place in the “Sing Your Song” contest with their first song “Kal Their debut album which carried the same name with the band “maNga” was released on December 14th, 2004 under Sony Music Turkey and GRGDN label. In this debut album, maNga sang “Kal Yanımda” In 2006 maNga album’s extended edition was rereleased as “maNga+” including one new maNga song “Kandırma Kendini”and the Cem Karaca cover “Raptiye Rap Rap”. maNga+ came with a DVD that After the album’s release, maNga had many concerts and participated in many national and international festivals (Sziget Festival, Mannheim Turkish Rock Festival, Wembley Arena, London). Giving more Travelling through different cultures and meeting many different people, more than 4 years after their debut album, maNga got into a new time period catching a smoother, more characteristic, warmer and “Şehr-i Hüzün” album consists of 16 songs, adding up to more than 60 minutes of music. Instruments such as reed flute, piano, tambour and traditional music instrument called “bağlama” create Listeners can also get a CD+DVD version of the album that includes a 150 minute maNga documentary wich was produced by Ferman Akgül. The documentary tells the story of maNga from the days it was first maNga has conquered the hearts of their fans once again with two following videos from their new album “Dünyanın Sonuna Doğmuşum” and “Beni Benimle Bırak”. Moreover maNga has won “Best European Act” award at MTV Europe Music Awards 2009 On November 5th, 2009. After this award maNga have released their third video off the album “Cevapsız Sorular”, Taking the winds of “Best European Act” to their back, maNga is now heading for the 55th Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, Norway this May to represent Turkey. maNga’s lead vocalist Ferman Akgül declared about Eurovision: “We are entering the most exciting and the most intense period of our lives as a band. Our purpose is to represent Turkey without leaving our artistic style.” Guitarist Yağmur Sarıgül added: “I strongly believe we will do our best for Turkey as a team. I thank TRT (Turkish Radio and Televison) and all Turkish fans who supported and trusted maNga.” ...

Because of new regulations, you do not have to wait for the maNga performance. You can start voting right after the first song.
Votes from Turkey for Turkey are not valid.
The most important for the fans outside of Turkey is to watch it on their national channels. You have to use the numbers from the national broadcast TV to take part at the voting for maNga.
If you want to vote by SMS, please send 14 as a SMS to the number given on your national TV broadacast.
If you want to vote by phone, you have to add the extension 14 to the phone number given by your national TV broadcast.

In the Final – Voting Information
• Starting right in the beginning of the show when the first representatives of countries take the stage, viewers in all 39 participating countries can start voting by making a phone call and/or sending an SMS for their favorite song(s). You are allowed to vote up to 20 times, but you cannot vote for your own country
• Based on the amount of votes by phone and/or SMS, televoters in each country then give 12 points to the most popular entry, 10 points to the second most popular, then 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 points
• Professional juries in all respective countries vote as well. Just like the televoters, each jury in each country then gives 12 points to the most popular entry, 10 points to the second most popular, then 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 points
• The televoting results and the jury results are then merged per country. Each result counts for 50%
• Spokespersons in all participating countries will read out the merged results, giving 12 points to the most popular entry, 10 points to the second most popular, then 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 points
• The country with the highest number of points wins the 55th Eurovision Song Contest
