The votes have been tallied, and Eldrine has won the less-coveted Barbara Dex Award. The top ten were...
1. Eldrine (Georgia), 133 votes
2. Jedward (Ireland), 81
3. Zdob si Zdub (Moldova), 66
4. Yüksek Sadakat (Turkey), 61
5. Homens da Luta (Portugal), 59
6. Kati Wolf (Hungary), 56
7. Aurela Gaçe (Albania), 45
8. Daria Kinzer (Croatia), 31
9. Maja Keuc (Slovenia), 28
10. Dana International (Israel), 21
I can understand why they won, it was a love-it-or-hate-it choice of outfit for the band. I really liked what they wore though, I thought it was very appropriate for the performance, it made the members of the band 'gel' together and it made them stand out from the competition. If I could alter it I would change the shape of Sopho's dress so the structural part started higher, more on the hip rather than mid-thigh, but otherwise it looked great on camera.
I thought having Dana International in the top ten was very harsh, I loved what she wore, and I'm inclined to think she was the best dressed act of the entire competition! Same with Jedward, the jackets were very representative of the boys and totally appropriate for them to make their European debut.
For me, even though I voted for Homens da Luta (about time Portugal won something) I think the winner should have been Daria Kinzer. When you have 3 costume changes in 3 minutes and not a single one of them looks good on you then you know something is wrong...
