About me

Since aged 7, back in Switzerland, I have been following this paneuropean camp-fest called the Eurovision Song Contest. My greatest moment was 1988 when Celine Dion won with: Ne partez pas sans moi.....

    Hi there Oliver,
I'm actually surprised that so few people like the Swiss entry...
If Sweden would send exactly the same song, all the fans would love it. (hypocrites!)
I think the choice of language was a smart move. So was the choice of artist.
Michael is a good singer and performer.
It's a shame people judge him by his ears... Have you read the awful (and superficial comments on youtube?)
Anyway... I still don't know whether you like the song or not. (?)
I can see why you like the German song this year: you have Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse amoung your favourite singers... :-)
I like the song too and you're right: she is trying to do a British (even a cockney) accent with a glottal stop but sometimes she slips into American or Australian accent.
    It's cute though...

It is a bit of a cult phenomenon here, but there are quite a few proper fans who go to Eurovision (like myself). We used to take the UK coverage and show it about 10 hours later - prime time for us on the Sunday following Eurovision.

Thanks for the lovely comments about my blog btw.

    Sharleen.

Hi. Russia is well yet, waiting for the Eurovision. Though some people don't like this year representative. Before that Russia chose only popular in our country singers. This year only unknown singers and groups took part in national selection. Though Peter Nalich and his group are something like Russian internet stars.
It was wonderful show last years. There were many very good, wonderful songs. Hope, this year show won't be worse. Good luck to Josh, though I haven't heard his song yet, indeed I have heard nobody's song for Eurovision.

No you're not the only sado! I watch the semi's every year! Not sure about Josh either but if they remix and revamp the song and hopefully make it a stronger entry with a bit more impact it might be able to do better than the chance it has at the moment! Fingers crossed the UK get some points!

    Reply from Oliver:

(erinnert mich irgendwie and Bjork).
Werde mir Norwegen Belgien mal ansehen...
