I can't believe it'll all be over in 4 weeks' time: where did that last year go...? I hope Enge leaves a lasting impression and Sweden doesn't go 2nd in the final...
As a consolation prize for no Baku, I went to ESC in Concert in Amsterdam, which was fabby. :D No Hump, but 20 out of 23 countries singing live (except Romania, Greece and San Marino), and they all sounded great to me...even Jedward, who threw their shoes into the crowd...but I didn't catch them... Now, their underwear... :P Spain and Albania gave the best vocal performances of the night in my opinion. Now I want Rona or Tooji to win.
Saw West End Eurovision, won by the cast of Sweeney Todd and a young Michael Ball-alike singing One Step Out of Time, UK 92...with the real Michael joining them at the end as Sweeney Todd...
I voted with 4 fans in London on all the song videos yesterday and I can announce that, according to us, Hungary and Cyprus will come joint 2nd, and France will win. :D We are wrong every single year...
Trust your revision is going well and look forward to the good news about your results. :)) OK, I'll bring my bikini and my bucket and spade to Princes Street to play in the sand pit. Is it spring in Scotland now? Can you bear the tension till 22 May? Will we be in Madrid or Reykjavik next year? Feel free to email or add me. :)) Take care for now. xx

Pastora Soler's voice is fab and that long note...wow...! Romania is just such good fun. Iceland is tremendous and might even win. Jonsi looks hotter without his beard. ;)
This year I like Albania, Azerbaijan, Bosnia, France, Iceland, Ireland, Lithuania, Malta, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Norway, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland and probably some others.
I really don't agree with the BBC choosing both song and singer without public input. Enge should sing well and can hold a tune. It is quite sweet but too cliched by far for me sadly. Going 1st in the final could be the kiss of death...or a blessing...I'm not sure which, lol... Glad you are more positive than me anyway and you're likely to be right, hehe. :D
So how is Edinburgh? Get those trams ready for August, haha. :P What have you been up to? That you can tell me about? Take care for now. x

Hi Robin, I'm well thank you. I like many of your favourites and how varied they all are - I think this year is quite good in that sense, there's a song that everyone can enjoy. I think eurovision is starting to change its cheesy pop image. Although, I have to admit I am partial to the big key changes!I agree with you about the BBC too, if they insist on choosing the act then we should at least get to pick the song. I'm also worried about all that time which people will have to forget Engelbert, but hopefully he can go first and show all the others how its done!
Edinburgh is good thanks and preparations are under way for the festival. Don't mention the trams! Princes street has been turned into a massive sand pit recently as some pipes need to be replaced before the tramlines are fully installed - so yeah the trams are delayed again! It'll be a minor miracle if they're ready for august. As for me, I've had a busy few weeks with coursework, so just letting my hair down a little before exam revision begins. How about you - been upto much recently? Take care xx

I went to a quiet party for New Year with an intellectual quiz, lol...which I didn't win... :P Good to see Jonsi, Iceland 04, back in the Icelandic final again...love a few Bulgarian songs...the guy kneeling on top of the piano...bit worried about Latvia... Let's see if Denmark can give us something epic again on Saturday...
You must be experiencing sub-tropical temperatures by now up there surely...? ;) Have you heard any rumours about the UK yet? I haven't... Do you have any fave UK entries of yesteryear? Take care and keep warm. x

Hey, been really busy recently so unable to reply! Hope you're still well. Now all the songs have been announced I'm really excited - I think the standard of most songs is better than last year. My favourites are UK, Spain, Slovenia, Romania and Iceland but I like many more! Which songs are your favourites this year and what do you make of 'The Hump'? Take care xRobin in London says • 30/Dec 2011 at 22:36
I agree that the Albanian singer has a fabulous voice. Maybe they will revamp the song somewhat...? They have time...
Yes, Switzerland is fabby! Cheese is fine... ;) Reminds me a little of A New Tomorrow...
Still in shock about Blue only getting 11th...what do we have to do...?!
No doubt you will be drinking and dancing tomorrow night for Mahogany... ;) :P Enjoy it all and trust that 2012 will be full of promise! :D

Hi, I'm good thanks - did you do anything exciting for new year?I can see the juries really liking the Albanian entry, and yeah I loved A new tomorrow last year!
As for the UK I'm not sure, we've shown that we're taking it seriously but still not getting the points :(
Thanks very much! Have a great 2012 too! x

Happy New Year Robin! I'm not too keen on the Abanian entry this year, she's got a great voice but the song is a bit depressing in places. I think the switzerland entry is amazing however, but then again I do tend the like the cheesier stuff. How about you, what are your thoughts on the entries so far?
