Read full biographyMacedonia: real good stuff

Up until last year, no entry from FYR Macedonia had failed to qualify to the final. It was obvious then, that with not so good entries they had progressed thanks to the high number of votes received from their former Yugoslav friends. However, last year proved that with the new system, most countries would have to send a really good song or else they would drown in the contest.
It seems to me that FYR Macedonia did learn the lesson, and this year came up with a fantastic song, which is appealing from the very first time that you hear it. Whtat's not to like about 'Neshto Shto Ke Ostane'? I'd have to say that their weakest point are the vocals (given that I have absolutely no clue as to what the lyrics say), but for the song style that really doesn't matter. I haven't liked a Macedonian entry this much since the widely criticized 'Make my Day' back in 2005, and I really do think that between these two lies the honour of being the best Macedonian entry ever.
It's fair to say, though, that Next Time will have a hard time with the draw. Singing after the impressive Icelandic and the (not by me) favored Romanian entries might not be the best luck. It is near the end, though, so it might just work for them. Still, last year FYR Macedonia had a perfect draw and failed to impress the European public. I hope this year sees them return to form and earn a place in the final.
