Read full biographyLithuania: good, but that's it

Lithuania was another of the countries which seemed that wouldn't participate in this year's ESC. Unlike Latvia, however, they did put a little effort in their selection and managed to come up with a song that's good... but that's it. I have tried to love this song, given that it's among the favorites in a lot of web sites, but I simply can't. There's something missing there, I don't particularly know what, but surely it lacks that little thing that makes your heart jump when you hear a song.
It can't be the vocals, since Sasha Son is indeed a marvelous performer, one that is not likely to make many mistakes when on stage. The lyrics are good too, I guess, although nothing remarkable either. Then what? It's probably that it fails to explode at some point; it's too flat, there is no moment of particular excitement throughout the song, and that, I think, adds up to a good entry, but not a winner. Yes, I would say it's that... it just fails to build momentum.
It is hard to believe that 'Love' will get stuck in the semifinal, for a number of reasons: the draw is pretty good, near the end, between two songs that couldn't be more different to the Lithuanian, with Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, among others, to rely on when the time comes to cast the vote, and well, of course, the fact that it has indeed been favored by a huge part of the public. Personally, I think there are better entries to move on to the final, but I certainly wouldn't mind if this one did... LT United pulled it off, after all.
