Read full biographyGermany: hot hot hot favourites!

After year of crappy, and I mean crappy results for Germany, they arrive to Oslo as one of the hot favourites to win the crown. It’s crazy what’s happened to this member of the Big 4, but they just don’t get the results anymore. Whether the songs are good or not, that’s arguable, but reality is that since 2004, they just can’t achieve a decent placing. That’s why the warm welcome among bookies and fans alike for ‘Satellite’ is so refreshing for the Germans.
Lena won Under Star Fur Oslo, the long long long German selection process (which by the way I thought was amazing), and from there all their songs became massive hits in Germany. The reason seems quite simple to me. She can sing, the songs are great and she’s an adorable girl. ‘Satellite’ is fresh, invites to dance, and you simply don’t get tired of listening to it. Lena’s voice has a special charm to it, something that catches your attention and just makes you want to keep hearing it… it’s so fresh, so young, but at the same time so educated. Love it! The one thing they could really work in, and I mean, needs serious improvement is Lena’s image. She looks like a 14 year old school girl, and honestly, the song lyrics invite for an older singer hehe. From my point of view Germany has all it takes this year to win, but the competition is indeed fierce. As I said, it has arrived as one of the hottest (actually, together with Azerbaijan, the hottest) favourite to win the 2010 edition, and it’s more than deserving. I already can see this one as a great hit to be dancing to all summer!
I have no doubt of one thing… a lot of points will be like a satellite, all around Lena, and will bring the hopes for the Germans to obtain their second Eurovision victory… it’s about time, considering their first and last came in 1983!
