Its been a while... time to log in and blog again.
This year I hope to make it a little more regular.
So the eurovision selection is well underway, some of the acts and songs have been decided.
Even living as far away as Australia I'm keeping abreast of the selections. Thank heavens for the internet, email, live webstreams and youtube.
The latest Eurovision news regarding Australia is that our broadcaster is considering to show it live, about 4am local time, as well as the regular Sunday night delayed broadcast.
I'll be there in Oslo too, by the way. 2nd year at Eurovision, and this time I'm bring a friend as well as looking forward to seeing all the friends I made last year.
So, I actually like the Albanian entry. Juliana is a great singer, good pop tune. It will no doubt get a makeover like last year, will probably be sung in English. I don't care that everyone has been mentioning on other websites that the result for it to win was rigged, I think Albania made the right decision. Its a good tune and with a great performer behind it I don't see why it won't make the final.
There seems to be a real focus on male singers this year too. How many have been selected so far? It feels more than normal.
The entries in Norway, Iceland and Finland have been a bit of a yawn-fest for me. I have enjoyed 'Cider Hill' though, but really waiting for something as catchy and instant as 'Fairytale' to appear. When I heard 'Fairytale' I just knew it was a winner. I'm yet to think the same about any of this years songs.
I guess a bit of mystery is a good thing for this year. Last year it was just a forgone conclusion.
