I've heard that the pop band Blue are representing the UK and Jedward are representing Ireland for this year's Eurovision. When I heard about this, I felt let down again. I'm half Irish and half English but I've lived in the UK my whole life so I've always supported the UK. And year after year we always let ourselves down with the acts we have to represent us for Eurovision. I remember Flying the Flag which was the worst thing ever, and last year wasn't much of an improvement. Didn't we learn a lesson with Jade Ewen in 2009 when we came fifth with her, the song was fantastic and she was talented. Now for 2011 we have Blue which I'm not to keen on, but I'm going to have a little hope because Blue have done well in their career and I think they can conform well to the cheesy pop that Eurovision is well known for.
So that's why I'm not surprised that Jedward are representing Ireland. I'm not a fan of them so when I heard them participating in Eurovision I knew Ireland's chances were dashed. But I couldn't judge their chances without listening to th song, so I've listened to Jedward's Lipstick - and it fits well with the cheesy pop of Eurovision so I have no idea how this will go. I wish Blue and Jedward (God help me!) all the best for this year's Eurovision :D
